  • Montagnards.

The inhabitants of Montignies-sur-Roc, south of Mons in the province of Hainaut, are called Montagnards.
It was therefore perfectly normal for a beer brewed in this city to be called Montagnarde. This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour.

It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour.
It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness.
It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue.

It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

  • Helles Schlenkerla Lager (Pale Lager)

“Schlenkerla Helles” is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It’s lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes “Helles Schlenkerla Lager” a unique representative of the classic lager beer style “Bavarian Helles”.

  • Blanche des Honnelles (1991)

It was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it’s name.

The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches.

It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background.

All the beers are made with water from a well in the rocky subsoil, with malt, hops and spices. They are natural without added sugars and guaranteed to be without chemical additives.

There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three
cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression.
    Lots of character and curious.

  • Abbaye des Rocs

(9% alcohol vol.) is a pure malt beer, with no added sugar.
The entire range of tastes is directly linked to the double fermentation, the precise quantities of malts (7 types) as well as the mixtures of three kinds of hops (Belgian,German and Czech).
Its colour is a striking deep and majestic red. Its taste is rich and
    full of subtlety.

It is tasted like a red wine with which it shares the ruby colour withouthaving the tannin. It develops a strong sweet smell. It confirms the initial impression in the first mouthful, with a sharp body that is balanced with a certain fruitiness.

It freesitself on the palate and develops an impressive depth of taste. Some traces of burnt wood are detectable, but never scorched even if it contains this kind of malt. The foretaste is very prolonged because of its rich and unctuous development throughout the mouth.

The bitter and sugar tendencies (even though there is no sugar in its composition) compete and come back together to the taster’s great satisfaction. It is a deep, mystic and extremely mature beer to be classed among the great products of our soil.

  • Schlenkerla Rauchweizen (Smoked Wheat Beer)

Schlenkerla Smokebeer Wheat is an ale with a light smoky aroma. Like Bavarian wheat beers, it is being brewed with a mixture of both barley malt and wheat malt. The portion of barley malt is hereby a classic Schlenkerla Smokemalt, while the wheat malt remains unsmoked.

Served unfiltered with a natural haziness, it reaches its full aroma through bottle fermentation with fine top fermenting yeast.

  • Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier – Märzen (THE classic Smokbeer)

Our dark, bottom fermented speciality, brewed for centuries in our old copper kettles with 100% Schlenkerla Smokemalt from the Schlenkerla malthouse. The “classic” Smokebeer as being described above by Michael Jackson.

Following time-honoured malting and brewing traditions, the strong smoky flavour of Original Schlenkerla Smokebeer is achieved by exposing the malt to the intense, aromatic smoke of burning beech wood logs at the Schlenkerla malt house.

After the brew in classic copper kettles, it matures in the historic cellars deep underneath the hills of Bamberg, to become a unique smoky beer experience.

By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped at the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614.

Hofbräu Maibock has the longest pedigree of all Munich’s Bocks. Its aromatic flavor and alcoholic content of approximately 7.2% by volume makes it one of the best creations from Hofbräu’s brewing kettles. Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

Combining refreshing notes of wheat beer and the richness of dark beer, Hefe Weizen Dunkel creates a wonderful and unique flavour. This one-of-a-kind beer is fermented similarly to light beer and stored in kegs for about one week, but in a way as unique as its flavour, it is stored upside down! Just before tapping time the yeast redistributes by turning the keg upright.

This brew, offering 5,1% alcohol by volume, is characterised by a variety of special malts and a pleasing taste of coffee and cocoa.

Münchner Sommer from Hofbräuhaus is an Ordinary Bitter. Hofbräuhaus has given Münchner Sommer the following description: “Hofbräu München’s Münchner Sommer naturtrüb is brewed according to traditional recipes. The refreshing sparkle makes this bottom-fermented, naturally cloudy beer garden speciality an ideal alternative to Weissbier.

Münchner Sommer naturtrüb has a shimmering, opalescent look and pours to an amber hue and a fine-pored head. The bottom-fermented classic offers 5.1% alcohol content and a hoppy aroma with a touch of fruitiness. It is a refreshing, sparkling drink with estery notes and a subtly bitter finish.

    A good alternative to Weissbier!”

Hefe Weizen is a really special kind of beer, characterized by its sparkling rich foam and distinguished by its unforgettable refreshing and fruity taste. It is brewed according to an ancient tradition and offers an alcoholic content of approximately 5.1% by volume. Savor the pure, refreshing enjoyment!
